Oliseh, Onazi praise Falcons over Sweden draw

Majority of the 2014 Falconets have graduated to the Falcons. 

Former and current Super Eagles midfielders, Sunday Oliseh and Ogenyi Onazi, have praised the spirited performance of the Super Falcons in their Monday night’s 3-3 draw against Sweden at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada.

The Falcons came from behind twice to earn a 3-3 draw in Group D’s opening match against one of the tournament’s favourites at the Winnipeg Stadium.
Goals from Asisat Oshoala, Ngozi Okobi and Francisca Ordega cancelled out an own-goal from Desire Oparanozie and two goals from Nilla Fischer and Linda Sembrant.

Former Eagles captain, Oliseh, took to twitter after the match to express his happiness at the draw.
He wrote, “This 3-3 is like a win for Naija, as Nigeria makes a spirited start to the female World Cup. Now I can sleep well.
“I am so proud & impressed with the physical input of the Falcons. Very good mentality.”
For Lazio midfielder Onazi, who also wrote on twitter, the Falcons are a strong team.
“I told you guys our girls are coming back stronger, show some love to the team #SoarSuperFalcons,” he wrote on Monday night.
Other Eagles players, Sone Aluko and John Ogu, and Nollywood star, Stephanie Okereke, also praised the Nigerian ladies for the point earned.
Aluko tweeted, “What an amazing game and advert for the WWC that was. Had it all. Credit to both teams. Nigeria v Sweeden=early candidate for game of comp!!”
Ogu wrote, “Really proud of these girls. #SuperFalcons.”
While Okereke tweeted, “I’m so proud of the Super Falcons! They did a great job today. We Love You. Kisses. SL”
